In the 1930s Myott began producing an extensive range of hand-painted Art Deco wares. The brightly coloured Art Deco vases, jugs and wall pockets, are highly sought after today. Orange and brown were the dominant colours used for decoration. Myott like other artists of the era used a very limited palette with their designs. This may have been the result of low colour availability or because pieces suffer from paint flaking and glaze crazing.
In 1949, a fire at the Myott works destroyed the company’s records therefore, the names of the designs and designers of Myott Art Deco ware are not known especially as pieces are neither signed nor dated.
