Figures, or figurines, by Royal Doulton fill a very special place in the minds of todays collectors. The HN series (named after Harry Nixon the senior painter at the time) first started in 1913 and have been in continuous production ever since. We are delighted to offer Royal Doulton Figure of the Year 1992, Mary. This special edition was only available during the year 1992. Mary is a beautiful young woman wearing a striking long blue dress with buttons down the back of the bodice and puffed and light blue sleeves. Below she is showing her white petticoats. There is a pink sash tied at the back in a bow round her petite waist. Her necklace and earrings are an orangy yellow shade to compliment the brim of her hat. Her hat is decorated with pink flowers and the pink is carried through to the colour of the bow in her hair and parasol. She was designed by N. Pedley and is 8.5” in height. She is 1st quality and in perfect condition. Her value in the 11th edition of the Charlton Catalogue is £400. |
